Goal 7 - Ensure environmental sustainability

Guaranteeing the preservation of the 8% of vegetation remaining in the state of Paraná, the recuperation of the biodiversity and management improvement of over 3 million hectares from all the 364 Unities of Conservation, public and private, is fundamental to preserving the wealth of the hydrography and forests in the Paraná state for the next generations. We need to improve the environment in which we live in, giving it minimum conditions of habitation and infrastructure for over one million people that live without sewer treatment, garbage disposals, electricity and treated water.

Goals Indicators
Integrate the main sustainable development principles in national politics and programs to revert the loss of environmental resources by 2015 Proportion of the area covered by forests.
Reduce by half, the proportion of the population living without safe drinking water by 2015 Area of protected land to maintain the biological diversity.

By 2020, have made significant improvements in the lives of at least 100 million people of degraded neighborhoods

 GDP (Gross Domestic Product) by unit of energy spent (as a pattern for energy efficiency).
Emissions of carbon dioxide (two other ways of measuring the atmospheric pollution: destruction of the ozone layer and accumulation of gases that cause global warming).
Proportion of the population with sustainable access to potable water.
Proportion of the population with access to basic sanitation of quality.
Proportion of the population with access to the right of property. (The separation between urban and rural of the indicators above may be relevant to follow the progress in the life quality of the Paraná state population).

 

How to help

  • Support iniciatives that help in the implementation of sustainable environmental actions, through the spread of information in schools, communities and companies.
  • Participate in programs of mobilization to stimulate recycling and reutilization of materials.
  • Give support to projects of research and formation in the environmental area.
  • Promote internal courses in places that stimulate the debate and the individual learning about the environment and the importance of doing small actions to help.
  • Promotion of "ecobusiness" (sustainable business) that preserve the environment and help the life quality of the population.
