In 2004, 168 cities in the state of Paraná diagnosed cases of HIV AIDS, which corresponds to 42%. This situation
was practically the same in 2005, with a small reduction in the number of cities, dropping to 161 in that year. Even though
the medicaments used in the treatment of HIV AIDS have improved, preventive actions must be made to stop the spread of this
disease.
