Goal 6 - Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases

In 2004, 168 cities in the state of Paraná diagnosed cases of HIV AIDS, which corresponds to 42%. This situation was practically the same in 2005, with a small reduction in the number of cities, dropping to 161 in that year. Even though the medicaments used in the treatment of HIV AIDS have improved, preventive actions must be made to stop the spread of this disease.

Rate of prevalence and mortality related to malaria.
Proportion of population living in risk zones that use effective ways of treatment against malaria.
Rate of prevalence of mortality related to tuberculosis.
Proportion of tuberculosis cases detected and cured in the short-duration treatment area.

 

How to help

  • Incentivize programs of mobilization and information on HIV AIDS combat. (And other epidemic diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, dengue fever and yellow fever, or yellow jack).
  • Support programs that provide access to medicaments needed by the people with HIV AIDS and the prevention of other diseases.
  • Participation of programs that donate and distribute medicine to low income populations.
  • Incentivize programs that spread information about prevention, sexual health and reproductive health, with volunteer actions.
