Paraná State hosts more than 2,2 million people in poverty situations, approximately one third of people live
in indigence condition. In 1990, the income per capita of families was not enough to provide basic food for them. This situation
has been shifting gradually in Paraná state. In 2005, the percentage of families in this condition moved to 25% (One
in every four families). The Paraná state is a major food producer and its citizens cannot suffer from hunger. Let’s
eradicate the extreme poverty and hunger in our state. This is our first challenge.
